WHEELS UP ON QANTAS AND VODAFONE PARTNERSHIP

Qantas and Vodafone have announced a strategic partnership that will see the companies work together to deliver new ways to reward customers.

Qantas Frequent Flyers can now earn up to 15,000 Qantas Points by connecting, renewing or upgrading online to a new 24 month Qantas Red plan with Vodafone.

Businesses that are members of Aquire, Qantas’s business rewards program, are also able to earn Aquire Points when signing up to Qantas Business Red plans with Vodafone.

Vodafone Director of Sales Ben McIntosh said the company’s partnership with Qantas allows Vodafone customers to gain more value from their mobile phone plans.

“Vodafone is determined to ensure our plans offer the best value and the inclusions that matter most to customers,” said Mr McIntosh.

“The opportunity to earn Qantas Points, which can be redeemed on travel, shopping and a host of other exciting offerings, gives consumers another reason to choose Vodafone and rewards our existing customers for their loyalty.”

Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant said: “Helping people stay connected, whether it’s through travel or their mobile phone, is something that Qantas and Vodafone are both passionate about so this partnership makes perfect sense.

“It demonstrates our commitment to helping our members reach rewards more quickly by providing them with more opportunities to earn Qantas Points for everyday use. If they use their Qantas Points-earning credit card to pay for their phone plan, they can also earn points on their card at the same time.

“Businesses like Vodafone partner with Qantas Frequent Flyer because they know that for the millions of Australians who are Qantas Frequent Flyers, they decide what to buy based on whether they can earn Qantas Points or not. In a competitive market, being able to reward customers for choosing their product or service and remaining loyal to their brand is an attractive proposition.”

Vodafone Executive General Manager of Business Stuart Kelly said: “Vodafone has established itself not only as a value leader but as a company that fully understands what matters to business. Our new alliance with Qantas means that businesses can get even more out of their mobile phone plans.

“Our business customers can easily earn Aquire Points which can be redeemed for valuable rewards including flight upgrades, hotel bookings, car hire and much more.

“Our partnership with Qantas is just another way Vodafone is making business better for mobile customers.”

Vodafone boards Qantas International flight network

Qantas and Vodafone are also partnering to offer a prepaid SIM, and a smartphone plus SIM package, to international customers travelling to Australia onboard eligible Qantas international flights. Qantas Frequent Flyer members will be able to redeem Qantas Points for Vodafone products available through the Qantas Store.

Complimentary $5 Roaming in New Zealand

The partnership announcement comes at the same time Vodafone has revealed it is offering Red customers who travel to New Zealand free $5 Roaming. From today, Vodafone customers with $5 Roaming on Red plans can ‘roam like home’ in New Zealand with no extra charge for roaming until 1 December 2016. Vodafone Red customers can continue to enjoy $5 Roaming when travelling overseas to more than 50 selected countries, meaning they can use their plan inclusions for just $5 extra per day.

“Australians love to travel and are eager to use their phones when they travel with confidence and ease. Not only will Vodafone customers and Qantas Frequent Flyers be rewarded when connecting to a new plan, they’ll now benefit from complimentary roaming access when they’re in New Zealand too,” said Mr McIntosh.
