Two time Oscar nominee, two time Golden Globe winner and Qantas Ambassador-at-Large John Travolta will visit Dubai next week to explore Qantas’ new international hub for flights to London and Australia.
John Travolta’s visit will mark his first trip to the United Arab Emirates and he will embark on a week long program of touring and corporate hospitality with Qantas.
Mr Travolta said he was excited to visit the Middle Eastern metropolis and was looking forward to experiencing Dubai’s diverse range of culture, cuisine and architecture.
“I’m really excited, I’ve been wanting to experience Dubai for many years now, and the launch of Qantas services to Dubai has given me the perfect opportunity to do so,” said Mr Travolta.
“I’ll be travelling on the Qantas A380 from London and then I’ll spend the week touring around the Emirate. I’ll also be working with Qantas to showcase the airline and what makes Qantas special – its luxurious cabins and premium service.
“I always love showcasing Qantas to the world. As one of the world’s leading long distance carriers, Qantas takes the best of Australia to the world, and the best of the world to Australia,” Mr Travolta said.
Qantas Regional General Manager, Middle East, Rohan Garnett welcomed the announcement of Mr Travolta’s visit, a key new hub on the Qantas international network.
“John Travolta has been part of the Qantas family for over ten years. He’s a highly qualified pilot with 747-400 ‘wings’ and flies his own ex-Qantas Boeing 707 around the world, painted in its original 1960s livery,” Mr Garnett said.
“The Middle East is a key international market for Qantas. Since launching services here in March this year, we have flown over half a million passengers between Australia and Dubai. Our services are welcoming new passengers every day and I know John Travolta will be encouraging everyone to try Qantas next time they fly.”
“We’ll also be providing customers with the opportunity to meet John Travolta while he is here with a host of competition and events.”
Qantas is inviting fans to win tickets to meet John Travolta during his trip to Dubai on Thursday 12 September. To enter, tune into the Breakfast Show on Dubai 92FM with ‘Catboy & Geordiebird’ between 1-5 September, or visit facebook.com/qantas between 8-11 September.
Qantas commenced direct daily services on the award-winning A380 aircraft from both Sydney and Melbourne to Dubai and onwards to London Heathrow on 31 March 2013 with the launch of the Qantas and Emirates partnership.
