Sydney
Published on 4th February 2014

Qantas Frequent Flyers can now wine and dine their way to an increased Qantas Points balance following the launch of new online restaurant booking platform “Qantas Restaurants”.

Qantas Loyalty has partnered with the Dimmi.com.au Booking Network, Australia’s largest restaurant marketing and booking network, to allow members to earn Qantas Points when eating out at more than 2,000 restaurants nationally.

Members can log on to qantas.com/restaurants and make bookings at a wide range of dining establishments ranging from chic and casual to fine dining. Among the popular restaurants involved in the program are:

Sydney:            Rockpool Group, Sepia, Catalina, Otto Ristorante
Brisbane:          Urbane, E’cco Bistro, Restaurant Two
Melbourne:        Rockpool Group, Flower Drum, Pei Modern, Café di Stasio, Matteos
Perth:               Rockpool Group, 1907, Sushia Izakaya and Bar, Must Winebar
Adelaide:          Auge Ristorante, Milano, Cucina, Celcius

There are also earn opportunities for restaurants across a variety of regional destinations including the Hunter Valley, Barossa and North Queensland.

Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards members with 100 points per person on the booking*, reservations are live, confirmed instantly with no booking fee and can be made 24 hours a day online.

Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant said it is yet another way for members to earn Qantas Points going about their daily activities, be it for business or pleasure.

“Our research has shown us that the majority of our members have great enthusiasm for dining on a regular basis and do so both personally and professionally.  Previously, we had a modest earn opportunity with a select number of restaurants but the launch of the new Qantas Restaurants provides a more comprehensive list of restaurants to dine and earn points at.”

Stevan Premutico, Dimmi CEO, said he is excited by the new Qantas partnership.

“The Australian public has become comfortable with discovering and booking their travel and leisure experiences online. With the addition of online bookings for restaurants with Qantas, the customer can plan with confidence and earn Qantas Points at the same time.”

This is the latest in a series of new opportunities for members to earn and redeem Qantas Points, and follows on from Qantas Cash (a pre-paid currency function build into the next generation Frequent Flyer Cards), Qantas Cruises (a new cruise booking platform where you can earn Qantas Points over 10,000 cruise itineraries with 17 international cruise lines) and Aquire, (the new rewards program for Australian businesses launching in March).
