Qantas’ popular seasonal Bali service goes year round

Published on 21st December 2016

During its second year of seasonal operations to Bali, Qantas today revealed that its popular Sydney – Denpasar service will move to a year-round schedule from March 2017.

The decision to make the service permanent reflects strong, growing demand from travellers wanting a full-service experience for their trip to one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations.

Qantas’ Bali service will continue to be operated by a two-class Boeing 737 aircraft, with a checked baggage allowance, inflight entertainment and food and drinks all included as part of the fare, with flights running four days a week.

Jetstar, the Qantas Group’s low-cost carrier, remains the biggest airline operating between Australia and Bali, with 60 return services a week.

Qantas International CEO Gareth Evans said the additional capacity was all about increasing choice.

“The combination of Qantas and Jetstar means we can give our customers the maximum range of options for their visit to Bali.

“That’s important for a destination which caters to different budgets and tastes.

“We’ve had a fantastic response to Qantas’ seasonal service, especially from our frequent flyers, so we felt the time was right to go year-round.

“For the past couple of years, we’ve been taking a more agile, flexible approach to our Asian network – responding to growing demand where we see it – and this is the latest example of that strategy in action,” said Mr Evans.

Qantas’ second year of seasonal daily Bali services began on the 14th December 2016 and runs until the 25th March 2017, with year-round services then continuing four days per week from 26th March, 2017.  Tickets are available at qantas.com or travel agents.
