Qantas Cash has received the ‘Outstanding Value Travel Money Card’ award for the second year running.
Qantas Cash is a pre-paid multi-currency payment facility built into the Qantas Frequent Flyer card.
Presented by CANSTAR, an organisation helping consumers make better decisions, the award recognises travel money card excellence across both card fees and features. As a winner of this award, Qantas Cash is permitted to carry the 5-star CANSTAR rating. The award comes just days after Qantas Cash hit a significant milestone, reaching a total of $1 billion loaded since the product’s launch in 2013.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant said the award is evidence of the great value Qantas Cash offers in the travel money card market.
“It’s always great to receive third party recognition and it’s fantastic for consumers to have comfort that our product has been independently reviewed, compared to similar products on the market, and comes out as one of the best.
“With Qantas Cash, the added bonus is that you can earn Qantas Points simply by using it to buy things you were going to buy anyway, and therefore reach rewards with Qantas Frequent Flyer even faster. And if you’re a Qantas Frequent Flyer in Australia, you may actually already have a Qantas Cash card in your wallet.
Ms Grant said Qantas Cash can be used when travelling overseas, with the capability to load up to 11 different currencies.
“It can also be used here at home for everyday purchases in Australian dollars, as another easy way to boost your Qantas Points balance.
“Our customers tell us that the fact we don’t charge load, reload, inactivity or monthly fees is a big factor in their decision to choose Qantas Cash. They say that not having to carry a lot of cash when overseas and rather being able to access cash at ATMs around the globe is the best of both worlds.
“With Qantas Cash you can also lock-in exchange rates before you travel, making holiday budgeting a lot easier.”
Qantas Cash offers one Qantas Point for every dollar of eligible spend in foreign currency and one Qantas Point for every two dollars of eligible spend in Australian dollars.
Qantas Cash is currently offering up to 10,000 bonus Qantas Points when loading foreign currency by 30 June 2015. The three most popular currencies loaded onto Qantas Cash are the US dollar, Euro and Pound Sterling.
Qantas Cash is used somewhere in the world every 10 seconds, with around 400,000 active cards.
